Daniel Mahoney served three (3) terms as Jackson County Commissioner District # 7 beginning in 2015. During his tenure as a County Commissioner Daniel served on the Human Services Committee his entire term in office including two years as Vice-Chair; and the Personnel & Finance Committee for four years; and the General Government Committee for three years. Mayor Daniel Mahoney was elected to the Mayor’s Office in Nov. 2021.
David K. Elwell served nine (9) terms as Jackson County Commissioner District #9 beginning in 2000. David served as Vice-Chairperson of the Board. In his time as a Commissioner, he served as Chair of Personnel and Finance, Chair of County Affairs & Agencies, and several Ad-Hoc committees. Additionally, he served on the Airport Board, Mid-South Substance Abuse, Region 2 Planning Commission, Community Corrections Advisory Board, I-94 Study Committee, and many other committees.

In the 2018 General Election Sarah Lightner was elected to the Michigan House District 65 The 65th District includes Springport, Tompkins, Rives, Blackman, Henrietta, Leoni, Waterloo, Grass Lake, Norvell, Columbia and Liberty townships in Jackson County.
Jon WilliamsJon Williams was first elected to the Jackson Board of County Commissioners in 2008 and served two (2) terms. Upon the untimely and heartbreaking passing of Commissioner John Polaczyk in October 2017, the sitting County Board of Commissioners appointed Jon Williams to the Board to fill the vacant seat.
Carl Rice JrCarl Rice Jr. served four (4) terms as Jackson County Commissioner District #3 (2010, 2012, 2014, 2016).
Julie Alexander served three (3) terms as Jackson County Commissioner (2010, 2012, 2014). In the 2016 General Election she was elected to the Michigan House District 64 The 64th District represents the City of Jackson and the townships of Concord, Hanover, Napoleon, Parma, Pulaski, Sandstone, Summit, and Spring Arbor.
