Work on Norvell Road has resumed to complete the project that began last season. The work will include topping Norvell Road with 1 1/2 inches of asphalt, driveway work, gravel shoulder placement, washout repairs, and placement of pavement markings.
Norvell Road Construction Project Phase I & II is a 6.2 mile-long project from Michigan Avenue to Sharon Valley Road and is scheduled to be completed by the end of June. No detour will be posted. Traffic regulators will be present, keeping Norvell Rd. open to one lane for the completion of this project. Motorists can expect a slight delay in traffic.
This project is made possible in large part by a grant from the State Transportation Local (STL) Federal Program administered by the Michigan Department of Transportation. The grant provides $1.26 million of the total cost of $2.97 million, and the remaining funds will be provided by JCDOT as approved by the County Board of Commissioners.
