Department on Aging, Program Coordinator Sharing With Client

Internships provide an experience for an individual wanting to develop a career in a particular area. The Jackson County Department on Aging  provides a wonderful opportunity for those persons looking to work in the human service field. The Department on Aging can build upon the student's knowledge they have learned through their coursework to further develop their skills.

During an internship experience at the Jackson County Department on Aging an intern will:
  • Learn about grants and program eligibility
  • Complete reassessments for program participants
  • Enhance their communication skills both verbal and written
  • Learn about community resources and how to make referrals
  • Be an effective part of a team
